It is okay that some leaves and debris will become lodged in the bristles because individual leafs and debris were never a cause of gutter clogging. With GutterBrush filling the entire gutter, leaves and debris can not band together to create a larger clump or a larger dam, so rain water continues to flow between the bristlles to the downspouts and out. If debris can not move, float or flow, then it can not group together to form a dam and it can't create a larger plug to clog the downspout opening. Leafs and debris can not clog the gutter.

Any leafs or debris that may be suspended in the bristles really experience an advanced process of decaying because they are out to the sun with abundant airflow surrounding each piece. Leaves really cook, out to the sun. The debris is not lying flat on the gutter's bottom, rather with the abundant airflow surrounding combined with sunshine, deterioration is accelerated. They decay and drop to the bottom of the gutter as tiny particles that gradually flow through and out.
