6 Reasons Property Owners Are Solving The Gutter Problem Once And For All With GutterBrush

You won't find out from an inspection. You'll find out from a phone call.

Monday morning, the tenant in the end unit opens up to a wet ceiling tile, a stained wall, and a pallet of stock nobody can sell. Above it, a gutter that had been packing since October.

Mold starts in 24 to 48 hours. After that it isn't a maintenance question. It's rent abatement, a lease-termination argument, and health claims from the people who worked in that space.

Here's why a growing number of managers are choosing Gutterbrush to solve this problem for good.

It’s made in the USA. Sold since 2004, in commercial gutters the whole time.

1. A Cleaning Contract Is Rent You Pay Forever

Commercial gutter cleaning runs $0.90 to $2.75 per linear foot, twice a year. On a 216-foot run that's about $650 a year, forever, and it only buys the same six months.

On anything with real height you're also paying for the lift, the labor, and the liability, which is why cleaning a large commercial gutter runs into the hundreds or thousands per visit.

It also doesn't cover the gap. The gutter fails in November. The truck comes in October and April.

GutterBrush is bought once and it solves it for good.

2. Most Guards Don't Physically Fit Your Gutters, This One Does

Almost every guard on the market is built for a 5-inch residential K-style gutter.

Your sculpted eave has strap hangers running through it. Your box gutter isn't K-style at all. The tin on your metal building was cut by the builder, so the width changes as you walk the run.

A screen bridges across all of that. It never seats, and debris goes underneath it.

A brush doesn't bridge. It compresses, it bends, and it fills whatever it's put into.

Due to the irregularities in the way the builders cut the tin roof and how it laid into the gutter, the brushes easily compensated for the width differences. Would have been almost impossible with any other gutter guard option.

3. It Fills The Gutter Instead Of Covering It

Every other guard is a lid. It keeps debris out of the trough, until a mat of wet leaves settles on top of it.

Then rain stops hitting an opening and starts hitting the mat. Water sheets across it and goes over the front edge, landing at the base of the wall causing damage.

GutterBrush has no top surface. The trough is full of bristle from back wall to lip, so water enters the way it always did and passes down to the downspout.

And the debris that lands in it never reaches the bottom. Caught in the bristles, held up in air and sunlight, it dries and breaks down instead of packing into a solid mass at the gutter floor. Nothing settles, nothing packs, nothing plugs.

4. Your Gutter Is The Best Nesting Site On The Property

An open gutter is a dry, elevated, sheltered channel that nothing can reach. A pigeon could not design better. And a solid cover doesn't remove that cavity — it roofs it.

Then it stops being a wildlife problem. A nest is a dam — the same overflow, with feathers in it. Droppings collect above a doorway, and in food service, healthcare or childcare that isn't a maintenance item, it's an inspection finding. Rodents follow the run to the soffit, and from the soffit they're in the ceiling.

And the window closes. Once a nest is active, a number of species are federally protected — and you don't get to pick which bird chooses your gutter.

A gutter packed with bristle has no open cavity to nest in and no loose material to nest with. Nothing moves in and the nest that never forms.

Our need was strictly to deter birds from nesting in our gutters. After reviewing the pros and cons of all of the available market options, we placed our order for GutterBrush… We can't imagine any scenario where this will not completely eliminate our nesting issue.

5. In Winter, A Clog Is How Weather Becomes Your Fault

Snow and ice on a walkway is often defensible. In many states, a property owner isn't liable for a natural accumulation.

That protection weakens when the accumulation isn't natural — when the water came off your building because something on your building wasn't working.

Which is the problem with a clog in January. At that point it isn't a maintenance issue. It's the mechanism that makes the weather your fault.

GutterBrush holds a channel open under the snow, so meltwater keeps moving to the downspout instead of standing in the trough and freezing solid. The bristles are black — low winter sun starts the melt inside the gutter rather than on top of it. Northern properties report less ice than they had before.

6. When It Needs Service, It's A Shake — Not A Work Order

Nobody in this category should tell you a product is maintenance-free, and this one isn't. It reduces how often someone is up there. It doesn't end it.

What changes is what "up there" costs you. Servicing a fastened system means unfastening panels one at a time and refitting every one of them. Servicing this means a tech lifts the section out, shakes it, and slides it back.

A simple shake and they were cleaned, ready for another season.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit a pre-engineered metal building?

Yes. Sculpted eave gutters are one of the profiles it was sized for, including around external strap hangers. Six diameters cover 2.25″ up to 8″. If you're unsure, the sample pack answers it in a week.

Does anything get attached to the roof or the panel?

No. Nothing is fastened, drilled or screwed. It sits inside the gutter and lifts out by hand.

Do we still need gutter cleaning?

From twice a year to once every two to four years, not never. GutterBrush says so directly — there's no such thing as a maintenance-free gutter guard out in the debris field.

Can our own maintenance staff install it?

That's how nearly all of it gets installed. No tools, no trimming, no fasteners.

What about birds nesting over the entry?

A gutter full of bristle has no open cavity to nest in and no loose material to nest with.
