Commercial gutter cleaning runs $0.90 to $2.75 per linear foot, twice a year. On a 216-foot run that's about $650 a year, forever, and it only buys the same six months.

Almost every guard on the market is built for a 5-inch residential K-style gutter.

Your sculpted eave has strap hangers running through it. Your box gutter isn't K-style at all. The tin on your metal building was cut by the builder, so the width changes as you walk the run.

A screen bridges across all of that. It never seats, and debris goes underneath it.

A brush doesn't bridge. It compresses, it bends, and it fills whatever it's put into.

Every other guard is a lid. It keeps debris out of the trough, until a mat of wet leaves settles on top of it.

Snow and ice on a walkway is often defensible. In many states, a property owner isn't liable for a natural accumulation.
